Bilingual Paralegal – Ville Saint Laurent

Our clients, located in the heart of Ville Saint Laurent, seek a Bilingual Junior Paralegal in Business Law, whom shall assist a small legal team.  The office and environment is cozy and friendly.   The office is new with ergonomic design and furniture.  Snacks and beverages are provided.  The office is very easily accessible by car or public transport.  

The successful hire shall be customer service oriented and highly detail oriented. 

Annual Remuneration is offered at a start of $43,000, work week of 37.5 hours. 9 to 5

Main Responsibilities shall be but not limited to:

  • Provide excellent and professional customer service, including 
    • Greet clients
    • Arrange conference rooms and insure cleanliness 
    • Handle information request (call or walk-in) and direct to the right legal counsel
    • Receive and relay calls and messages 
    • Schedule Meetings
  • Open office at 9 AM
  • Maintain the hard copy and electronic filing system 
  • Maintain confidentiality 
  • Determine matters of priority and handle accordingly 
  • Arrange for mail and packages pick up 
  • Prepare correspondences 
  • Secretarial and administrative duties (i.e. Label, Certifications, maintaining office registries) 
  • Responsible for multiple files in the field of business law
    • Assist in the preparation of the documents required for completing various business reorganizations and business transactions
    • Prepare and participate in closing sessions 
    • Review minute books and prepare the required documents to update those minutes as well as corporate minutes with government bodies
    • Prepare documentation required for Incorporation
    • Follow-up on files for signatures and production of documents and preparation of required letters

Requirements are: 

  • Excellent English and French – written and spoken 
  • Strong customer service skills, people-oriented 
  • Flexibility to work with changing priorities
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and diligent proofreading, ability to check typed material for grammatical, typographical, spelling, word usage, and format errors etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, an asset to know Trello and Pro-Notaire
  • Fast and accurate keyboard skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, follows instructions and take initiative
  • Strong work ethic and professional integrity
